Our Urban Farmers play a critical role in carrying out the day to day activities involved in creating a flourishing garden in the city! See below for ways to be involved:
Join us every Monday from 4-6pm from April – October.
Crops from the garden are harvested for garden gate sales, farmers markets, local food banks and our local restaurant partners. We harvest Friday evenings, 4-8pm and Saturday mornings, 7-9am. Start your day off in the best way possible- join us any day for one hour, two hours or more! Want more Information?
One of the main activities at the garden is engaging kids and youth with the wonders of the seed to table process. We have Youth Educational Programs at partnering schools and host school garden tours, workshops and volunteer days at the garden. We also host Passport to Permaculture, our summer kids camp and workshops. If you are passionate about health, nutrition, local food, kids and gardening this is the opportunity for you!
We are often invited to share and educate the public about our projects at local community events. It is a wonderful opportunity for our volunteer to share the pride of being a TWIAGer and the joy of doing what we love with other! We will send out an email to all our volunteers whenever we have an event coming up so you can be part of it.
Have a great idea or special project you would like to see at the garden? Your ideas shape the garden! In the past these have included bees, composting, and butterfly gardens. Let us know your ideas and we can work together. Our project’s success is a reflection of the community support we receive from you. Whether you’re a neighbour, community member, project partner, or funder we would love to hear from you!
